Bidders who opt in to text messages get a text when someone outbids them on an auction package. The text links back to the package, so they can see the bid activity and raise their bid.
How Outbid Alerts Work
When a bidder is outbid, they get a text message like this one:

Tapping the link opens the package, where they can see the bid history and bid again.

How Bidders Opt In
Bidders only get outbid alerts if they've opted in to text messages from AES. There are four ways to opt in:
- Buying tickets on the event microsite. Bidders are asked to opt in when they enter their contact information on the event microsite.

- Express Check-In. Bidders are asked to opt in when they enter their contact information during Express Check-In.

- Self Registration in the mobile bidding app. Bidders are asked to opt in when they enter their contact information.

- Check-in at the event. If a guest hasn't already opted in online, check-in staff ask whether they'd like text alerts and mark them as opted in.
