# Selling Add-Ons at Check-In

Add-ons are extra packages, such as raffle tickets and wine pulls, that guests can buy while they check in. Check-in staff sell them in Event Manager with **Sell Add-Ons**, so guests don't have to make a separate stop.

**This article covers:**

- Choosing which packages staff see
- Selling an add-on
- Paying for add-ons
- Fixing a mistake

### Choosing which packages staff see

The **Sell Add-Ons** window shows only featured packages by default. Most events have many admission tickets, sponsorships and donations that check-in staff don't need to see, so featuring just the packages you sell at check-in keeps their list short.

Before the event:

1. In Auction Conductor, go to **Packages** and open a package you want to sell at check-in.
2. Check **Featured** and save.
3. Repeat for each package you want check-in staff to see.

**Featured packages can also appear in the mobile bidding app.** Packages sold at check-in are often unpublished, and featured packages still appear at check-in when they're unpublished. If a featured package is also published, it shows at the top of the mobile bidding app too. That works well for raffle tickets you also sell in the app. Keep packages meant only for check-in unpublished.

### Selling an add-on

1. In Event Manager, click **Check-In** and search for the guest.
2. Click any household member in the results to open the household check-in screen. Each household member has their own row.
3. Select the person the add-on is for, then click **Sell Add-Ons**.

4. Find the package in the list. If it isn't there, uncheck **Featured** or adjust the other filters at the top of the window to see more packages.

5. Use the plus and minus buttons to set the **Quantity to Add**.
6. Click **Save**.

The add-on is recorded as a purchase for the person you selected. If they're in a household, it also appears on the household's receipt with everyone else's purchases.

### Paying for add-ons

An add-on is added to the guest's balance like any other purchase. Guests pay for it at checkout along with the rest of their balance, and any balance left after the event can be charged to the card on file.

- **Put a card on file.** If no one in the household has a card on file, check-in is a good time to add one. See [Event Check-In Process](/article/56zikrcc36-event-check-in).
- **Collect payment at the time of sale.** For packages that should be paid for right away, such as raffle tickets, turn on **Instant Pay** for the package. See [Multi-Unit Instant Pay](/article/apw8c8r3wo-multi-unit-instant-pay).

### Fixing a mistake

If you added the wrong package or quantity, open the guest's record in Auction Conductor and remove the purchase from their **Activity** tab. You can also delete it in the **Bids & Packages** section of Event Manager. Then sell the correct add-on.

If the guest already paid for it, refund that payment first. See [Refund a Payment](/article/hs1omnrnld-processing-refunds).

### Frequently asked questions

- **Why isn't a package showing in Sell Add-Ons?** The window shows featured packages by default. Uncheck **Featured** to see more packages, or mark the package as featured in Auction Conductor so it appears by default.
- **Does a package need to be published to sell it at check-in?** No. Featured packages appear in Sell Add-Ons whether or not they're published.
- **Which household member should I select?** The person the add-on is for, such as the guest holding the raffle tickets. The purchase still appears on the household's receipt.
- **Can guests buy add-ons somewhere other than check-in?** Yes. Staff can also sell them at checkout, on kiosk tablets or with Quick Entry.
